The Philips EL 6030 was manufactured in Holland (the Netherlands) between 1952 and 1957.

It was designed for vocals and has been used by artists ranging from Sarah Vaughan through to British pop star Anastasia. It also made an appearance in the film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

With its incomparable space age design it is a feast for both the ears and the eyes.

It is sometimes referred to, somewhat disparagingly, as the “Cauliflower”.
